CAPTIVATING RARE AND UNSEEN PHOTOS OF JIMI HENDRIX SHARED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A NEW BOOK THAT CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF ONE OF THE WORLD’S GREATEST
“A photographer develops an ‘eye’ for recognising a subject that exudes character – an instinct for spotting a face that, when captured on film, will betray some of that person’s deepest secrets, drawing the viewer in and turning a stylish photograph into a captivating work of art.”
From 1967 until his tragic death in 1970 Jimi Hendrix played no less 43 concerts in Denmark, Sweden and Finland. This book compiles the most captivating of the photos from the concerts with stunning images taken both on and off stage that have never or rarely been published before. The narrative is related by the people involved in the shows, offering a new perspective all these years later.
The book presents and extraordinary document of a phenomenal man.
About the photographers
The photographs have been gathered from numerous sources: Partly from hot shot music photographers like Jan Persson, Jørgen Angel and Bent Rej, but also handpicked gems from thousands of amateur pictures and newspaper shots. Together this patchwork shows Hendrix both on and off the stage, at his highs and lows.
